Right now, one of our all-time favorite gaming headsets is on sale for nearly 40% off, and even the most unsure buyer is unlikely to regret it.
The HyperX Cloud Alpha S is an upgraded version of the regular HyperX Cloud Alpha released 2 years ago and instantly became one of the best gaming headsets in our hearts. When the Cloud Alpha S launched, we loved the headset, but the price hike really frustrated us.
The good news is Amazon has the HyperX Cloud Alpha S PC gaming headsets are on sale now for under $80. These headsets tend to retail for around $130 right now, so save $50 to test out 7.1 surround sound in some extra games. Based on our reviews, it certainly enhances some gaming experiences, but may hinder others.
Models sold include blackout color variants. A solid and complete matte black design that flies well under the radar of gaming headsets. The iconic blue trim model is also available, as is the cheaper red HyperX Cloud Alpha for around $50, but it seems worth the extra $20 or so for the S model. It also comes with adjustable bass and a chat mixer mic, which won’t blow your mind with the quality of the recording, but can easily handle all your in-game chat needs.
The Cloud Alpha S is also a wired headset, something to be aware of. This means you don’t have to worry about battery life and get the best possible latency, but you also can’t really get up from your desk and grab a snack while the headphones are still connected. Those looking for a wireless version of HyperX’s excellent headphones may want to wait for the new Cloud Alpha Wireless with up to 300 hours of battery life when it launches next month.
