Amazon is developing two films with Dwayne Johnson involved

The co-op platformer It Takes Two, which won Game of the Year 2021, is getting a movie adaptation.

in an exclusive report type, the project is in official development at Amazon Studios, and reportedly many other household names. Namely, those made for seven bucks: Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia.

We know Dwayne Johnson will help produce the film adaptation of Need Two, but it hasn’t been confirmed whether he will star in the film. I can see him playing the book of love, what do you think?

As for the script, writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller — the masterminds behind Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 — will adapt the game for the screen while serving as executive producers. Additionally, the developers of the original game – Josef Fares and Oskar Wolontis – will also serve as executive producers on the film, along with dj2 producers Dmitri M. Johnson and Dan Jevons.

The movie will follow a similar narrative to the game. May and Cody were planning a divorce and somehow found themselves inside two dolls that their daughter Rose made out of them. Therefore, they must venture together to return to their original bodies. Revolving around relationships and communication, It Takes Two effortlessly becomes a captivating, touching, and frustrating game.

Through the game experience, you can immerse yourself in May and Cody’s relationship trying to solve problems, and the story isn’t perfect. If anything, it’s the creative co-op gameplay and playstyle that makes it so whimsical, so I’m not sure how well this movie performs as a movie.

Although, with the progress of video game movies in recent years, we can hold out hope.
