At least one Cyberpunk 2077 NPC now sends nudes
Cyberpunk 2077 has always been a controversial game for a number of reasons, but one aspect that has been solid from the start is its romance. The relationships you can build with Kerry, Judy, Panam, and River are well written and presented. They’re at times sweet, funny, tragic, and even downright romantic, and Cyberpunk’s recent 1.5 update has injected more detail into these side stories.
After the update, when you choose to sleep in your character’s apartment, you’ll usually wake up next to your digital lover of choice, and your boyfriend will text you more frequently throughout the game.
I found myself not having to hit haystacks as often during playtime, another immersive little issue that really plagued Cyberpunk 2077, but it’s still a nice touch. The increased exposure may also help alleviate one of the classic problems with large RPG romance subplots, where you “finish” the romance arc and then have no contact with that NPC during the 20 hour side quest before they reappear in the main plot , rather than being provoked by ghosts. PC gamers, bad form in a real relationship!
According to some obsessive detectives on Reddit, at least one in-game lover, Panam Palmer, would indulge in the great ritual of modern love: sending nudes. Needless to say, a bit NSFWbut as obvious as a regular Instagram thirst trap.
Before you start slapping tables and howling like an old-school cartoon character, I think this photo has the same Uncanny Valley quirks as the in-game sex scene. However, you may have a higher tolerance for 3D models imitating sexiness than I do.
The patch has only been released for a few days, so this may just be the surface of Cyberpunk 2077’s hot and haunted communications. What will fan-favorite Judy Alvarez or burly detective River Ward get you? Does troubled but lovable guitarist Kerry Eurodine show up in your DMs just wearing a guitar? The sky is the limit when you sample the fantasy of the future 2077 from the (un)comfortable 2022.
