Chocobo GP, Final Fantasy kart racer, enters March release

Chocobo GP will cross the finish line in just a few months.

More specifically, when Chocobo GP landed on Switch on March 10th, you can participate in the game as a Chocobo, your favorite Final Fantasy summoner, heroes such as Terra, or others. There are still less than three months to go until March 10th, so you may want to master your kart racing skills quickly. If you are looking for a good way to do this, it is Nintendo’s own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, because the Chocobo GP looks very, very similar in almost all aspects.

From the item box, uh, Magicites, placed throughout the track to the track design, and even the way the racer drifts, Chocobo GP looks very much like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Look, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is arguably the best kart racer, so it’s no surprise to see another racer adopt a similar shape. Also, if Final Fantasy is more of your franchise than Mario or anyone else highlighted in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then Chocobo GP may be your favorite kart racer.

Today’s March 10th release date news is announced in the release date trailer Nintendo UK YouTube ChannelIn it, we got more detailed information about the game, including a brief introduction to its story mode, some characters we can expect to see, and so on. We also learned that, similar to other kart racers, a series will consist of four races. Although Chocobo GP has its own series ready to be launched at launch, players can also create their own series.

The trailer also shows a quick glimpse of the track we have never seen before-you can see it at around 1:26, and it looks like a Final Fantasy spin on Mario Kart Wii’s Moo Moo Meadows. Elsewhere in the trailer, you can see the castle track previously shown in the Chocobo GP announcement trailer.
