Christmas is here, Nintendo eShop is closed

Existing and new users of Nintendo Switch have been reporting throughout the day that they are trying to visit the Nintendo eShop to download their games, updates and spend their generous Christmas gift cards. Many users on social media reported that they received standard error messages when they tried to visit Nintendo’s online store. This may be because the Kyoto-based company’s servers were hit hard by Christmas. The Twitter accounts of Nintendo in Europe and Nintendo in the US did not resolve or acknowledge this issue on social media, which angered some fans. There is no doubt that Nintendo’s engineers are working hard to solve the overload problem, but when they think the Nintendo Switch Shop will be open to everyone, it will be convenient for the company to acknowledge the problem and provide an expected timeline.
