Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition Preview – Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition | What’s New Today

In recent years, Square Enix has been porting parts of its hallowed JRPG library to modern consoles in a number of ways. Games like Final Fantasy, the Mana series, and more have made their way to consoles like the Nintendo Switch, making for an excellent history lesson for those wanting to understand the fundamentals of contemporary RPGs. Chrono Cross is next on the list, and in today’s episode of New Games, we’ll take a look at the fan-favorite title and let you know how the Radical Dreamers Edition fared.

Take a tour of the game’s remastered opening hours with host Alex Stadnik and JRPG expert Kim “KStar” Wallace. They highlight all the changes Square Enix has implemented, including graphics switching, accelerated gameplay, and more. They also discussed visual improvements to the Radical Dreamers Edition, and whether newcomers or veterans will enjoy this return to the beloved series.

Finally, they also discussed some technical issues they encountered. While the game is playable, there are noticeable drops in frame rate from time to time, and both Kim and Stadnik have noticed that the game can stutter when they use the Switch version. Is it enough to spoil the experience? You just have to watch our new game today to find out.

If you’re excited about Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, you don’t need to wait, as Square is releasing the latest remaster for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on April 7.
