Aliens: Fireteam Elite sadly doesn’t allow all players, regardless of platform, to enjoy the game together.
Alien: Fire Team Elite, Cold Iron’s co-op shooter recently aimed at the release date in late August. Today, developers have revealed one detail that will definitely disappoint many.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite does not support cross-platform play.Cold iron confirmed this Gamespot, Adding play beyond that generation is supported, but only within the same console family. In other words, PS4 players can play with their PS5 friends, and the same is true between Xbox platforms, but those parties are no match for PC and rival console platforms.
As a co-op shooter, Aliens: Fireteam Elite looks like the best game to enjoy with a group of friends, so it’s a bit strange to see no cross-play. This is doubly true given that the competition for Fireteam Elite, a game like Back 4 Blood, supports cross-platform play, a feature that will be tested in the August open beta.
Fortunately, Aliens: Fireteam Elite supports AI bots to supplement players who disconnect in the middle of a match. The game also offers standard matchmaking, and we hope it will be easier for players to group.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S on August 24th.
