Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte is a pixel-flavored drink that first made its way to the Metaverse, releasing IRL in May

Coca-Cola has announced the latest addition to its Creations soft drink line, a gaming-themed “pixelated” drink called Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte.

Through a partnership with lifestyle and gaming organization PWR, Byte will be first introduced to Metaverse, and its real and drinkable versions will be available in limited quantities in May. A virtual version of Byte will first appear in a “personally created Fortnite creative experience” called Pixel Point. The PWR-created island features four “sensory-inspired multiplayer mini-games” named The Castle, The Escape, The Race, and The Tower. The promotion of Pixel Point and Byte is not officially affiliated with Fortnite or Epic Games.

In addition, augmented reality games can be Coca-Cola Creation Site This will have a virtual leaderboard to compare completion times on social media.

The Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte will be available in limited quantities starting May 2 and can be purchased through the Coca-Cola Creations website. Bytes will be packaged in 12-ounce cans and sold in two-packs, Coca-Cola said, one for consumption and the other safe to collect. The release of the Byte comes on the heels of the release of the Starlight flavor, with Coca-Cola promising more limited-edition Creations throughout the year.
