Cuphead Show Coming to Netflix Next Month, New Trailer Released

Cuphead and his trusty drinking brother are coming to Netflix next month.

The news was announced today, and the first official trailer for the series is called Cuphead show. This new trailer comes seven months after ours first peek At the show, as that glance showed, Cuphead Show The protagonist and his brother, the Mug Man, travel across the Inkwell Islands.

Unlike games where the game asks players to clear debts owed to the devil, the show seems to be less about a central story like that, and more about an episodic adventure that may or may not be hijacked by some demonic act from the devil. However, the trailer revealed many of the locations visited in Cuphead and the many bosses our heroes face in the game.

“Based on the award-winning video game that hit the scene with gorgeous retro animation style, Cuphead Show is a character-driven comedy series about the unique misadventures of the lovable, impulsive rogue Cuphead and his cautious but easily shaken brother Markman,” reads a Netflix press release. They’re always there for each other when the surreal home is looking for fun and adventure. ”

As you might expect, the show retains the same retro animation style as the game, with the same 1920s-style antics and comedy.

Netflix Animation is working on a 12-episode series, each of which will run for 12 minutes. Cuphead creators Chad and Jared Moldenhaur from Studio MDHR are executive producers. Voice actors include Tru Valentino (Psychonauts 2) as Cuphead, Frank Todaro (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure) as Mugman, Joe Hanna (Dishonored 2) as Elder Kettle, Luke Millington-Drake as Devil, Gray Griffin (Batman: Arkham City) as Ms. Chalice, Wayne Brady (Whose line is it?) as the king dice.
