Cyberpunk 2077 wins new game director

Cyberpunk 2077 has found a new game director in Gabriel Amatangelo, following former quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

The new game director joined the studio in January 2020. He joined the team as the creative director of Cyberpunk 2077. Prior to that, he worked on several major RPG experiences, including the extension of Dragon Age Inquisition (which helped a lot in connecting). Bass game together) and Star Wars: The Old Republic. His leadership, with the ability to perfectly connect to his RPG background and ongoing story, could mean great for the future of Cyberpunk 2077 after a chaotic launch.

Amatangelo will continue to take on the promised form of Cyberpunk 2077 at launch and lead development responsibility as the promised DLC for this open world adventure.

Former Cyberpunk 2077 game director Adam Badowski has resigned from another leadership position to focus on another aspect of CDPR-affiliated game development. With more cyberpunk experience and a return to The Witcher franchise, there’s a lot to do in a Polish studio.

This is all part of the studio’s revised action plan after the game was withdrawn from Sony stores after it became clear that game marketing wasn’t what it looked like. You can read more about how Cyberpunk 2077 went on sale and what happened after it went beyond just a glitch at the Game Hub here.
