Darkest Dungeon 2 brings early access to the Epic game store next month
Get ready for your party, and the horror and pain awaiting you in the Early Access version of “Dark Dungeon 2”. A tweet from the dark dungeon developers at Red Hook Studios has confirmed that the ongoing build will land on the Epic Games Store on October 26, which is arguably the scariest holiday of the year.
With the change of roguelite format, Darkest Dungeon 2 will run repeatedly in the game. Our PC editor Dan Tack made some great table settings for this sequel, which happened to be an introduction to a feature he wrote, previewed the game and revealed a new character, The Runaway:
Darkest Dungeon 2 is not satisfied with living in the shadow of a small village in the first game. Darkest Dungeon 2 did not continue the town construction and dungeon crawling of the original game, but instead allowed players to embark on a doomed caravan journey into the cursed biome, unbridled decadence. With the risk of the end of the world so high, the unresolved environment becomes crazy, embracing the worst elements that you always hide. When you travel through the world with a group of carefully selected adventurers, death and despair are always lurking around the corner. The turn-based battles and stylish Gothic look that are as good as the first game are back, but there are constant decisions to be made in every corner of each run.
You can read the full feature here or in Game Informer Magazine Issue 338. Those who are looking forward to “Dark Dungeon 2” can now add it to their wish list in the Epic game store.
