Destiny 2: Splicer Season Comes with a regular host of new season weapons. And with so many new gear to track and try, FOMO is real.
Below is a summary of some of the most exciting new weapons to look out for this season.
Destiny 2 Ignition Code: Splicer Season
There are many new weapons in the Season of the Splicer, but the most talked about is the ignition code.
This weapon is the only kinetic grenade launcher in the game that is not currently restricted by the game’s “Sunset” system. This will prevent older weapons from leveling up beyond certain points.
With its lightweight frame, powerful blast radius, and grenade bounce, it’s not hard to see why it’s rapidly becoming a new favorite for many Destiny 2 players.
However, as explained in the video below, the ignition code also contains broken interactions that could potentially work in your favor (at least until the patch is applied).
Destiny 2 Exotic Weapons: Splicer Season — Cryosthesia 77k
Splicer season launched with the new exotic weapon Cryosthesia 77k.
This sidearm is the first rest energy weapon added to the game and is the only second rest energy weapon overall. Free players will unlock at level 35 in the new season and Season Pass owners will have immediate access.
Cryosthesia77k has two perks.
- LN2 burst: (Basic / Essential) Variable Trigger: Press and release to fire individual shots. Holds to fire charge shots when liquid cooling is active.
- Liquid cooling: (Basic / Characteristics) The final blow with this weapon allows for a short charge shot. Targets hit with this shot are instantly frozen at the expense of the entire weapon magazine.
It has already been suggested that new exotics are on the rise throughout the season, but for now, Cryosthesia77k is the main event.
Exotic hidden in the splicer season — Vex Mythoclast
The Season of the Splicer reintroduces the Vault of Glass raid that was first seen on the first Destiny in 2014.
The raid returns with the exotic fusion rifle Vex Mythoclast that you receive to complete the raid.
Details are unknown at this time as the raid will not be available until May 22nd. However, early reports suggest that VexMythoclast has the following benefits:
- Timeless myth: This weapon fires one bolt each time you pull the trigger.
- Unlimited time: Defeating the target builds an overcharged stack.
Future War Cult Weapon Reissue
Eagle Eye fans may have found Lakshmi-2, a Future War Cult faction vendor found at a first-year faction rally, in the Season of Splicer press kit image.
Later, the brave player of the Season of Splicer discovered that almost every Future War Cult weapon was reissued, probably in the pools of the world.
This means that many cool and unique weapons that haven’t been available since Season 4 are back! It’s still a bit unclear how to get them beyond random rolls, but keep an eye on the details.
