Destiny 2: Splicer’s Season Ikora Voice actor changes and meets new Warlock Vanguard

Destiny 2: Everyone knew that Ikora was recast when the Splicer season was revealed, but now we know who the new voice actor is taking the cloak. Gina Torres was the original voice of Destiny 2’s Warlock Vanguard Ikora Rey, but as it happened in the past, there was a cast change.

Meet Ikora’s new voice, Mara Juneau. Bungy himself hasn’t confirmed the news, but the actress couldn’t wait to share her new role with the Guardian everywhere. Her social media is filled with Destiny images such as her new Ikora profile picture and Twitter’s Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer header image. When she shared Destiny’s post from Bungie, she captioned it with a quote from Ikora. She also retweets the posts of fans celebrating her in the worst Warlock role around.

For those unfamiliar, Junot has an impressive portfolio not only in games but also in acting. On the game side, she speaks out Diablo Immortal Barbarians, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zeina Ossou, World of Warcraft Aleria Windrunners: Shadowlands, Outer World Nyoka and more!

It’s always hard to say goodbye to a familiar voice, but Junott is incredibly talented and has a long history of bringing great characters to life. As an avid Destiny 2 player and former Warlock main, I’m looking forward to seeing how she plays that role. Her voice is a bit different from the great Torres voice, but her advance into the Season of Splicer fits very well. I’m embracing a new direction, but I hope this is the last cast change. At least for a while.

What do you think about Torres being no longer part of the Destiny 2 world? Are you excited to see Junot become the new Vanguard? Listen to your thoughts in the comments section below.
