Nintendo has released warn Regarding the current bug in Metroid Dread, the bug will prevent players from making further progress.
This error can be particularly annoying because it can happen near the last part of Metroid Dread. Nintendo said that a fix for the vulnerability will be released at the end of October, so it seems that there will be no more in the next 16 days.
However, this means that Metroid fear players may still encounter between now and then. Fortunately, Nintendo has detailed how to avoid it, or get rid of it if you have already encountered it. If you receive a message saying “The software has been closed due to an error,” and the game is forcibly closed immediately, you will know that you have encountered an error.
However, according to Nintendo, this error will only occur under a certain sequence of events.
“Towards the end of the game, if the player destroys the door when the map marker for that particular door is displayed on the map, the game will be forcibly closed and [the message above will appear on-screen],” Nintendo’s PSA Regarding wrong reading.
Sounds very destructive, right? This may be the case, especially if you want to end, but fortunately, Nintendo has detailed how to bypass it or avoid it altogether.
If you encounter an error, or have already started a sequence of events that will cause the error to be encountered, you need to do the following:
- Restart the game and before finishing this sequence, remove the door icon map marker to prevent this error from occurring.
- After the software update is available in October 2021, be sure to update Metroid Dread to avoid encountering this error.
