Sony introduced a new firmware update PS5 Owners all over the world this morning.New firmware, version 21.02-04.02.00, Is the first incremental update after the main summer version of the mainframe.
The 21.02-04.00.00 released last month adds a wealth of new features to Sony’s new game console. Some highlights include the ability to install off-the-shelf NVMe SSDs, 3D audio support for TV speakers, and a slight update to the main screen to better indicate different versions of the game (PS4/PS5).
The firmware also redesigned the trophy page, simplified the game foundation, and made it possible to further customize the control center. Usually, a large firmware like this is released after a small incremental update to solve any problems that may be introduced.
In today’s release, Sony did not specify the actual repair content, but chose “This system software update improves system performance.” So far, there seem to be no reports of undocumented fixes.
However, you should get new updates whenever possible. If you put it in rest mode, your PS5 console should also automatically download and install it.
