The Fortnite DreamHack tournament will return this year, opening the door for everyone willing to fight for the championship. In addition to the drop in all Fortnitemares content in October, Epic Games also brought back one of the most popular tournament formats for battle royale games. DreamHack is your chance to participate in Fortnite tournaments, everyone can participate freely, greatly expanding the competition in each region.
Below we provide you with a guide to the entire tournament, including when DreamHack starts, what the tournament rules are, and what prizes you can win.
What is Fortnite DreamHack?
Fortnite DreamHack is basically an open tournament. Any player can join freely on the match day to see if they can get to the top of the list. You don’t need to have a specific hype score (basically your ranking in the competitive mode) to enter.
This is a great opportunity to bring the community together for more random tournaments. It’s entirely possible that you can compete with professional players, so the heat will definitely continue.
When will Fortnite DreamHack air?
Fortnite DreamHack begins on October 7th and ends on October 10th. This is a two-player tournament, so you need another squad member to actually enter.
The first stage is an open qualifier, anyone can enter, regardless of the level of hype. Then, the top duo will enter the semifinals. The number of teams depends on the region. In a 3-hour period, each duo can play a maximum of 10 games.
The top 50 duo in the semifinals will enter the finals. The finals will play six consecutive games at a pre-arranged time, with a new game starting approximately every 35 minutes.
Remember, you need to set up two-factor authentication on your Epic account to enter the tournament.
