Instead of diving into the full character creation system, players could only choose from a set of five pre-designed characters during the Elden Ring network beta. Life has found a way, however, and the YouTube channel ER-SA gives us our first look at that character creator, although most of the text is blocked and many options may be in the works.
However, you can see it’s pretty in-depth. It looks like there are 10 classes to choose from, just like the ones in the Soulsborne game. The leaker chose what appears to be the Elden Ring version of the Stripped One, with no armor, clubs and shields, all stats straight 10 points across the board. Looks like they have a second club in their inventory, maybe a double club action?
Clearly, Elden Ring’s graphics team felt pressure to remake Demon’s Souls and felt the need to match its fidelity. If the hairstyle is anything, they succeed. There are a lot of sliders to customize your look, and as the description of the video says, “You can now finally easily create a good-looking character”. Of course, they showcase these options by monsterizing their characters, maxing out all the sliders, and choosing wacky skin tones.
Wes Fenlon played Elden Ring’s web test last year and thought it was a success with combat and RPG systems, but found the open-world exploration to be largely lackluster, at least in the early realms. The rest of us will be able to find out for ourselves when Elden Ring releases on February 25th.
