Elden Ring day one patch includes balance tweaks, bug fixes, and more

Elden Ring finally hits consoles and PC tomorrow, and today, a day before its release, Bandai Namco and From Software released Patch Notes Patch 1.02, essentially the day one patch for the game.

In it, you’ll find tons of fixes, bug squashes, and more. If this day’s patch is the same as previous ones, you probably won’t even be playing the game until this update is installed. If you purchased the game physically or have pre-installed the game digitally, this update may be pushed before you start the game.

Here’s what to expect from Elden Ring’s 1.02 patch:

  • Improved player controls
  • Adding and Adjusting Background Music
  • text adjustment
  • balance adjustment
  • NPC event fixes and tweaks
  • Fixed framerate drop under certain conditions
  • Fixed text errors in some languages
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Xbox Wireless Headset from working properly

These patch notes also include a quick note about the game’s upcoming implementation of ray tracing, noting that this support is scheduled to be available after the game’s launch tomorrow, with more details about it to be revealed in a “future announcement.”

While waiting for this patch to download and install, please read game whistleblower The Elden Ring review to determine why we gave it a 10 out of 10.
