Elden Ring: From Software to address performance issues in new launch day news

Elden Ring is doing very well — its Steam count is already nearly six times what From Software’s previous all-time high — but some players have criticized the game’s performance, especially on PC.

From Software has released a new release day news Specifically addressing some performance issues encountered in Elden Ring, it seems that some fixes may appear soon. The message also addresses an issue that occurred on the console and PC versions of the game.

“We are currently experiencing issues that prevent the game from functioning properly in certain circumstances,” the message read. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your patience.”

Here are the main issues to be addressed in future updates:

  • The problem with the PC version of the mouse being too sensitive: We will send a patch for this issue in the near future.
  • About the problem that Easy Anti-Cheat cannot be started when the Steam account name is set to 2-byte characters: We know the cause of this issue and will provide a patch in the near future.
  • About performance-related issues such as frame rate phenomenon during the game: We are constantly working to improve the game so that it can be played comfortably on a variety of PC environments and platforms – for the PC version, updating the graphics card driver to the latest version may significantly improve performance.
  • Regarding the phenomenon that the PlayStation 5 version does not currently save game data: If the PS5 console unexpectedly shuts down while playing a game or in rest mode, saved data may not be saved correctly. We know the cause of this issue and are working on a patch to correct it, but please save your game by manually quitting the game periodically until the patch is released. If you quit the game by opening the system menu with the OPTION button and selecting “Quit Game”, the game data will be saved correctly.

“We are also working on some other bug fixes and performance improvements as needed,” From Software wrote. “If you encounter other issues, please feel free to contact our support team.”
