Elden Ring Rya Quest Guide
Elden Ring Rya quest is relatively short and doesn’t have as many steps as other NPCs TaskThat said, there are a few places where you might wonder how to continue her story, and there’s a choice at the end that might leave you scratching your head.
You can meet Rya once you reach Lyurnia on the Lake, but this step doesn’t seem to be needed to complete her questline. Her story will take you to a later area, so if you’re just starting your journey in Lands Between, don’t expect to finish this quest anytime soon. Here’s how to complete the Elden Ring Rya quest and the consequences of the choices you ultimately need to make.
Elden Ring Rya Mission Summary
Here is a breakdown of the steps involving Rya, although the first four are optional and not required to complete the second half of the questline:
- Meet Rya in Liurnia of the Lakes and she will tell you she lost a necklace.
- Retrieve this item from the Black David Boggart in the North.
- Return the necklace and she will give you an invitation to Volcano Manor.
- When you reach the Altus Plateau, talk to Rya to teleport to the Volcano Manor.
- Talk to Rya after completing Tanis’ first assassination.
- Visit the Prison Town Church through a secret passage and return to Rya.
- Retrieve the serpent amniotic membrane from the godskin noble and give it to Rhea.
- Find Rya in the Volcano Manor dungeon to choose.
It’s also worth noting that killing Ricard before talking to him in the dungeon will prevent you from completing her quest.

Elden Ring Rya quest: How to get to Volcano Manor
Most of Rya’s tasks take place in Volcano Manor, but you can meet her before then if you want.She can be found in a stone structure, to Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace Northwest Lyurnia on the lake. Completing quests for her here will get you to the manor quickly and without killing any bosses.
While the following steps will get you to the manor quickly, they are not required for the main part of the Rya questline:
- Talk to Rya and she will ask you to retrieve the necklace.
- Head northwest to find Grace’s Boiled Shrimp Shack ruins.
- Talk to the NPC sitting outside and he will mention the necklace.
- Either buy the necklace with the runes or kill him to loot it.
- Go back to Rya and hand over the necklace, she will give you an invitation to Volcano Manor.
- See her again on the Altus Plateau and she will teleport you to the Volcano Manor.
You can find Rya in the living room after reaching the Volcano Manor and talking to Tanis.

How to get to the Temple of Aigle
Once you’ve told Rya “the dark side of the manor” and exhausted her dialogue, you’ll need to acquire an item to continue. The head of the godskin nobles in the Temple of Aigley drops the Amniotic Membrane.
From Grace Prison Town Church Ruins, go out the gate and go right, following the path leading to the side of the church building. When you get near the wall at the end, a small kidnapping virgin will appear from the right, but you want to go the left way.
Follow the road downhill, through between the winged statues at the bottom, towards the building at the end, with a serpentine enemy standing at the door. Go around the side of the building and climb the ladder directly in front of you. At the top, turn left, run over the roof, and drop onto the narrow balcony at the top. Follow the path, then turn right where it opens and go through the double doors.
Go up the steps, then turn left, go through the door next door, and look for the stairs to the right. Once at the bottom, go through the door on the left and follow the hallway past an enemy hanging in the air. There’s a gate in front of you – that’s where you’re going – but if you go through the door on the right side of the room, you’ll find the ruins of Grace’s Guest Hall.
Once you’ve opened the double doors, pull down to the lava-free section below. Now jump to the safe area to your right and follow the left side of the building until you reach the bottom of a set of stairs – a light is right next to them. Run up the stairs and follow the path until you reach a place full of hanging cages. There is a small elevator cage opposite. Stand on the pressure pad inside and rise.
You can go up the stairs to enter the church and find the Godskin Noble miniboss.This is the same boss you might meet Tower of Lournia The bridge, though, is here, and you can use the pillars to block some of its attacks. Once you defeat it, you get the snake’s amniotic membrane. Activate the Grace site here, then return to the Volcano Manor and give the item to Rya.

Where to find Rya in the Volcano Manor dungeon
Reload the area and you’ll notice that Rya is gone. You can talk to Tanis here to get the forgetfulness tonic. It’s time to find Rya.
Go to Eiglay Temple of Grace, you should activate it after defeating the Godhide Noble. There is an elevator outside the door on the north side of the church, but it is temporarily unavailable. Instead, use the elevator to the right of the Grace site. When you reach the top, walk down the hallway to the balcony. You should see a small lava lake below, then you can jump over the barricade and land on the safe ground to the right of it.
Follow the road, cross the narrow rock bridge full of fire slugs, and descend to the left, just before you reach the corpse with the item. Follow the narrow path up until you reach a huge lava lake, then navigate to the building ahead, heading west. A smaller kidnapper virgin will appear here, but you can dodge it and go around to the right side of the building and go through an open window there.
Open the door and go back outside again, go through a serpentine enemy, and go up the stairs to the right. When you get to the top room, go through the door on the left, then use the elevator to go down, but be prepared to jump out the door directly below. Go through the window on the other side of the room and watch out for the lava. Rya is in a room in the opposite building. Jump over the lava and turn left to find the door.

If you take the supplement from Tanith, you will have a choice when you speak to Rya:
if you choose tonic for forgetfulness, you can go back to the manor and tell Tanis that you did some extra dialogue. Once you go to beat Rykard and return to the manor (when everyone leaves), Rya will be in her old position in the living room. Talk to her, then reload the area to find the Daedicar’s Woe Amulet she’s standing on.
If you don’t give her supplements, go back to her hideout after killing Recard, and talk to her again. Refuse to give the supplement a second time, then reload the area. Rya will disappear, but you can find Zorayas’ Token and Daedicar’s Woe Amulet where she is.
there is one third option, which is to kill her. Doing so means you can loot Daedicar’s Woe Amulet from her body.
Obviously the choice is up to you But the second option seems to be the best option hereNo matter what you do, you’ll get the amulet, but not giving her the tonic means you’ll get the letter too.
