Emily Rogers: Intelligent Systems’ next Fire Emblem project is nearing completion
It’s been nearly 3 years since the last Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, was released for the Nintendo Switch, and fans have been clamoring to know when they can expect to see the next entry in the series . A sequel to Koei Tecmo-developed spinoff Fire Emblem Warriors was announced in the latest Nintendo Direct, but according to well-known leaker and industry insider Emily Rogers, Nintendo may be planning to launch or at least announce more Fire Emblem 2022 content.
Emily has shared The next unannounced Fire Emblem has been in development at Intelligent Systems for over 3 years, with a “support studio” assisting them, and the game is “coming soon”. She claims an October 2022 release is possible, but isn’t sure if Nintendo will push it back to early 2023, as their fall 2022 plans already include Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and presumably Bayonetta 3.
As for her own guesses, she thinks Angel Hunt 3 may not be enough for a month, at least in terms of sales expectations, and thinks it would be wise for Nintendo to pair games like Fire Emblem, or possibly the rumored Metroid Prime HD, right next to it.
She also pointed out that Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia and Fire Emblem Warriors were both released in 2017, so it wouldn’t be too absurd to see two different FE games coming out the same year, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has been announced for June 24, 2022.
Rumors have been around since last year that a remake of the classic Fire Emblem might be in the works, with insider/leaker Zippo claiming its development was almost complete in July, so we’ll have to wait and see. The same game Emily was referring to.
