Epic may have fallen out with Apple, but Microsoft welcomes it in the new Windows 11 store

The Microsoft Store using Windows 11 (and later through updates to Windows 10) will undergo major changes, including policy changes that may make the market more useful for gamers. Microsoft announced that it will soon allow direct download of third-party storefronts through built-in stores, first of all, Epic Games Store and Amazon.

“…Today, we announced another major update to our Microsoft Store on Windows policy, which will allow third-party storefront applications to be discovered in the Microsoft Store on Windows,” Microsoft said in a blog post. Just like any other application, a third-party storefront application will have a product detail page that can be found by searching or browsing-so that users can easily find and install it, just like any of the Microsoft Store on Windows Same as other applications.”
