Europe: Switch top-selling consoles in March, Xbox Series X|S No. 2 and PS5 No. 3

The European video game software and hardware charts are now March, and the Nintendo Switch family of systems is the number one console. The Xbox Series X|S console was the second best-selling system, and the PlayStation 5 was third. The Xbox Series X|S and Sony’s PlayStation 5 continue to have supply issues worldwide. On the software side, Nintendo’s first 3D Kirby adventure, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, was the fifth-best-selling game, but Nintendo did not share digital data with GSD. Kirby and the Forgotten Land proved to be a favorite in Germany and France.

“332,000 consoles were sold in the European region last month (the figures do not include the UK or Germany. You can view our UK report here). This is a 14% increase compared to the previous month, but compared to the same period in 2021 Down 39% compared to last year. Nintendo Switch is the most popular console. Switch sales are up 9% compared to March last year. Xbox Series X and S are the second most popular consoles. Xbox and PlayStation platforms are facing severe inventory shortages.”
