Explore Uncharted 2: The Complete History Of Thieves Video Gameology
After conquering Metroid in Season 1 and then Halo in Season 2, game informerThe Video Gameography Podcast turns its attention to one of Sony’s greatest assets: Uncharted. We kicked off last week with Drake’s Fortune, and now we move on to Uncharted 2: Rogue Rogue, the terrific sequel that propelled the franchise into the stratosphere.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves launched on October 13, 2009, just two years shy of Drake’s Fortune. Now that it has a solid foundation of collaboration, Naughty Dog set out to make the video game equivalent of a summer blockbuster. This includes eschewing cutscenes in favor of technically impressive gameplay moments that still offer control over the action, such as the game’s famous train sequence. From Nate herself to newcomer Chloe Frazer to everyone’s favorite girl-next-door Elena Fischer, the words and characters shine even more. Uncharted 2 also introduces a surprisingly solid multiplayer mode, rounding out an excellent package that goes on to win countless Game of the Year awards (including ours).
Join host Ben Reeves (@BenjaminReeves), Marcus Stewart (@Marcus Stewart7), and IGN Senior Editor Jonathon Dornbush@jmdornbush) as we unravel the development history and influence of Nathan Drake’s tome.
