FAR: Changing Tides’ new journey sets sail on March 1, get to the demo now
FAR: Lone Sails set the atmospheric tone for the FAR gaming world, now Okomotive and Frontier Foundry bring you another opportunity to embark on a new journey and see what adventures lie ahead of you FAR: tidal change.
Lone Sails places you in a barren, dry land where the ocean has all but disappeared, and FAR: Changing Tides takes you to the ocean in a world largely covered in water after extreme flooding. Don’t think that all the water will leave you with nothing to explore, because the game is already full of adventure. You’ll find ruins on the island to wash away, and you’ll even go down to the bottom of the ocean in search of salvage and fuel.
In this adventure, you will follow a boy named Toe as he wakes up in this submerged new world and joins him on a journey to discover his new home. While the sea can sometimes be your friend, offering you the means to explore the world, it also presents dangers that you must overcome.
You have to become a skilled captain, single-handedly piloting your unique ship, manually controlling it and managing its systems in a hurry on the deck. You also have to make sure your ship stays in working condition and discover new parts to enhance its capabilities and keep exploring new territories. When you play, you need to really get to know and bond with your ship, because it’s just the two of you on the high seas.
As you explore, you’ll encounter unique challenges and puzzles that will test you as a player. Not only are these puzzles obstacles to overcome on your journey, but many will give your ship new components and capabilities and help you learn how to use them.
These puzzles and the entire world of FAR: Changing Tides are enriched with hand-painted artwork. Okomotive combines the entire experience with composer Joel Schoch’s dynamic soundtrack that reacts to the environment and player movements to create an engaging, meditative experience as you play.
FAR: Tidal Change will launch on March 1st, but you don’t have to wait to experience the game for the first time. You can try the demo through Steam Next Fest and see what the title has to offer.
