Five new Steam games you might have missed (October 4, 2021)
On average, more than a dozen new games are released on Steam every day. Although we think this is a good thing, it is understandably difficult to keep up. Unless you categorize every game released on Steam, the potentially exciting gems will surely get lost in a plethora of new gadgets. So this is exactly what we did. If there is nothing you like this week, we have collected a running list of the best PC games you can play right now and the upcoming 2021 games this year.
Diammonium Phosphate
Steam page
Release time: September 30
Developer: Melting Parrot
Sale Price: $11.19 |£8.79 |AU$15.96
Dap is a horror game about guiding helpless creatures to safety: think about Lemmings or Pikmin. It looks incredible in action and has an extraordinary mixed art style that combines pixel art with more realistic elements. This terrifying environment is not the usual scary forest or run-down mansion, which studio Melting Parrot describes as “a permeable field between dream and waking.” It sounds relaxing, but it may not be. The game screen indicates that you will solve puzzles and participate in some light shooting games, but I think the main attraction here is to watch it.
Bonfire peak
Steam page
Release time: September 30
Developer: Corey Martin, Draknek
Sale Price: $18|£13.94|AU$26.05
Bonfire Peaks is a puzzle game about burning all the garbage. In the world of voxel art that is viewed isometric, the protagonist must climb a mysterious ruin, but in order to do this, he needs to destroy his box. The game is presented in the form of a series of puzzles, including moving boxes and crates, in order to create a safe passage for the protagonist and his belongings. But he is not the most agile person, so expect some brain teasers and no “filling content” at all. So far, it has received good reviews and looks good.
FIST: Forged in the Shadow Torch
Steam page
Release time: October 3
Developer: TiGames
Sale Price: $27|£22.49|AU$38.69
This year is an incredible year for Metroid enthusiasts: Axiom Verge 2, Astalon: Tears of the Earth, Ender Lilies. FIST is another one. Its performance is beyond that. It presents a completely 3D world from the side angle and supports ray tracing. Obviously it combines “Diesel Punk aesthetics” and “Oriental architecture”, but to me it looks tough. The battle looks tense-you have fists, drills, and whips, and you will use them according to the type of enemy you face-and, uh, did I mention that the playable character is a cute rabbit robot? This is.
Turing complete
Steam page
Release time: October 3
Developer: LevelHead
Sale Price: $14 |£10.84 |AU$20.26
Turing Complete launched an early access version last week. It is an educational puzzle game about building computers. According to the studio, you will “build a functional computer entirely with logic gates” while learning programming, assembly, and CPU architecture. This is not a game for the faint-hearted, but there is no need to know how computers work in advance. The game will stay in Early Access for “approximately” six months, while adding new tools and features.
keep a clear mind
Steam page
Published: September 28
Developer: We create things
Sale Price: $29.74 |£23.62 |AU$42.45
Another horror game, this time more traditional: this is a first-person event, set in “a corridor of an inexplicable building”, full of puzzles and terrible bad guys you need to shoot. The nature of this building is not a simple matter, so don’t expect a series of grim corridors-In Sound Mind definitely leans towards surrealism-but expect boss fights, cats and some very unpleasant encounters.
These games will be released between September 27 and October 4, 2021. If you buy something through one of our links, some online stores will give us a small discount.Read our Franchise policy to know more information.
