Rockstar finally announced that GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas will be released in a series.
The game named Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be released later on the Rockstar Games Launcher on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The final version will feature “full upgrades”, including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three games. However, the game will still maintain the “classic look and feel” of the original. Rockstar said it will share more about these games in the coming weeks.
It will also land on iOS and Android in the first half of 2022.
In preparation for the release of the trilogy, Rockstar will begin to delete existing versions of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas digital retailers next week.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the birth of GTA 3. To celebrate, Rockstar said it will look for special equipment to collect in GTA online mode at upcoming events this fall, including commemorative costumes and uniforms.
In addition, this month’s GTA online mode events will also bring some “special surprises”, including the upcoming “Southern San Andreas and surrounding areas will have some unusual activities.”
After a series of leaks, I am glad to finally have an official announcement, even if this is not surprising.
