For those anxious about the sound of their footsteps, it looks like the hottest game, Gloomwood, is one of the best we’ve seen at E3 2021. Now, developer Dillon Rogers has uploaded a brief rundown of some of the new game’s features making it to the game, announcing a promising release sometime in 2022.
Back at E3, we only had a five-minute trailer and a nifty pre-alpha demo Still available on Steam. Stealth immersive survival-horror sims (and what’s the genre?) have come a long way since then.
Developers Dillon Rogers and David Szymanski round up all the new features being added to Gloomwood, and they look pretty exciting. There is now a physical inventory system where you can click and drag objects from the game world to the grid to carry them around. There is also a new type of pistol, the Undertaker, which can be silenced and fire a variety of special ammunition, such as projectiles and incendiary rounds.
There are now also destructible lights that allow you to forcibly extinguish lanterns and candles, and generators that can be forcibly extinguished by power outages all Lantern. At the same time, there can now be conversations between guards outlining what is happening in the current level.
you can find Dark Forest on Steam.
