‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ sold over 20 million copies a week before ‘Forbidden West’

Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on February 18th, and players seem excited to be back on Aloy’s journey, as its predecessor Horizon Zero Dawn just passed a new milestone: Sold 20 million copies.

That’s no surprise — Zero Dawn is one of the best-selling games on the PlayStation, and it makes sense that more and more people were picking it up in the run-up to The Forbidden City. What better way to know the story of Aloy’s first journey in the original 2017 game? Still, 20 million is a huge number.

“Wow, Horizon Zero Dawn has officially sold over 20 million PS4 and PC copies worldwide,” PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst wrote on Twitter today. “What an incredible achievement. [Guerrilla Games], a big thank you to our fans who are so supportive. Now, let’s get ready to visit the Horizon Forbidden City in a week. ”

On top of that, Hurst also revealed that over a billion hours of Horizon Zero Dawn have been played. That’s a lot of broken machinery.
