Our favorite gaming keyboard is $40 off Amazon Before Black Friday. Corsair K100 offers a variety of custom RGB settings, macro key usage and overall sturdy construction. The only thing we can knock on it is the price. Now, this is not a problem.
The price of Corsair K100 is reduced by $40, and the price is $189.99. It has been a month. Earlier this year, its price was mostly US$229.99, but it fell to US$176.94 very briefly in July. This is not the lowest price this year. As we approach Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it may be lower, but for this keyboard, it is still a good price.
This keyboard has a full-size layout, which means you will have a small keyboard and six additional customizable keys. If you don’t have enough space on your desk or need all these extra keys, then this may not be your choice. Programmable buttons can be connected with Elgato’s Stream Deck software to control various things such as launching applications and running scripts, so the space it takes up may be worthwhile for functions.
All these buttons use Corsair’s proprietary OPX optical switch, which basically means that your button recognition speed will be slightly faster than traditional mechanical switches, and the pressure will be less. These switches are designed for fast response in games, with a driving force of only 45g. In his review of the keyboard, Alan commented on how this affects your game (accidentally pressing the button), but said that “even though after a week of use, the feeling of working and playing is incredible.” If you are currently using Mechanical keyboard, the linear motion of these keys is similar to Cherry MX Reds. You will not feel bumps when you press the keys. The keyboard feels very subjective, but I know that as someone who makes a living typing, linear is a great way to keep up with my writing quickly.
If you like a keyboard similar to a Christmas tree, there are RGB under all the keys of the keyboard and on the side of the device. Using Corsair’s iCue software, you can change the colors and create effects, such as rainbow ripples every time you press a key. All these options can be controlled by software or the dedicated scroll wheel in the upper left corner of the keyboard. Rotating it will control the brightness of the RGB LED, and clicking it will cycle through the modes.
All these features, including rugged manufacturing quality, make Corsair K100 at the top of our list of the best gaming keyboards. There are cheaper options out there, but none of them offer so many. Minimalists look elsewhere, and if you use the keyboard like a Swiss army knife, this is a great choice.
