Mass Effect Legendary Edition is arguably the best way to enjoy the series, but it lacks one outstanding feature that made the original trilogy so much better, Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer. Join the Game Informer crew with special guest Derek Hollan (formerly BioWare developer) to see if the game mode popular with fans still continues. Spoilers: That’s right. We look forward to seeing Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
But why didn’t the recent release of Legendary Edition include multiplayer? In the last interview Game Informer, BioWare developer Kevin Meek said:
“I had all these analogies early on so that people could understand what this remaster would be,” he said. “One thing is that the 1982 Porsche needs to be completely restored, but imagine that it’s actually buried in concrete, so you have to scrape everything off.” Try something like “Does this still work?” Do you want to blow off the engine turnover? As you know, it’s a daunting task. And I think people underestimate what it’s like to play this game. Because every step gives you a painful choice. We spend our time trying to really improve it. “And” Where does this lead us? ”
“I strongly feel that the majority of our fans have chosen the ones they are most passionate about. It was really hard on the topic of multiplayer. Another way to get all online systems working. It’s a big chunk, but at the same time it involves a lot of other logistics. The construction of the economy is quite different. Then the question “Do you support after release? What about those who are still playing?” It came out. Today’s multiplayer? Are you trying to find a way to cross-play between PS3 and PS4? There were many. ”
Hopefully, the success of the recently remastered trilogy will help motivate BioWare to remaster the multiplayer mode of the third game. But what do you think? Is it the greatest benefit of BioWare to spend additional resources to support the post-launch Mass Effect Legendary Edition by adding multiplayer? Fortunately, Mass Effect 3’s servers are still online and easily accessible with the original copy of the 2012 release, so you can enjoy multiplayer mode while you wait.
