Electronics giant LG enters the gaming market, It actually looks like a very good kit. The company is known for producing various electronic products, such as washing machines, refrigerators, sound bars or some of our favorite game TVs. Although LG has manufactured a large number of laptops in the past, this is the first laptop to be labeled as a game. Considering the specifications, it is fair enough.
LG’s new gaming laptops join the company’s UltraGear product lineup, such as this LG UltraGear 32GP850-B gaming monitor. This seems to mean a great screen, and other cool specifications, at least on paper. The 1920×1080 17-inch IPS panel has a 300Hz refresh rate, so you can definitely take advantage of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card and the 11th generation Intel Tiger Lake H CPU in this ultra-thin unit.
The 17G90Q model LG advertises is 17 inches, which is a bit larger than many gaming laptops, but it is still only 21.4 mm thick and weighs 2.7 kg. This makes it heavier and thicker than one of our favorite gaming laptops this year. The Razer Blade 15 may have a similar CPU, but with a larger screen and a 93Wh battery. These specifications make it more inline with our favorite large-screen laptop, the Asus Rog Strix Scar 17 gaming laptop. But this is also accompanied by a high price of 3,500 pounds or 3,000 US dollars, and LG has not told us the price of this new gaming beast, which may be a bit stinging.
Here are some other specifications that seem to be particularly beneficial to gamers, such as DTS:X Ultra support for 3D sound, and LG claims to stay super cool even when working hard. It can be equipped with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage space. But it is also just a beautiful-looking unit with a potentially sturdy design. There is even a fully customizable RGB keyboard, because LG knows who it is marketing to now.
In the company’s CES presentation on January 4, we should learn more about LG’s new gaming laptop.
