LittleBigPlanet legacy server will be shut down

Little big planet Twitter The account issued a statement announcing that it intends to close the PS3 version of LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet 3 and LittleBigPlanet Vita servers, making LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS4 the only level that can be unscathed.

For all game series that use generated content, this sounds a bit like missing the point. But the reason for the shutdown is to keep the community safe, and the end of these servers is called “the best way to protect the LittleBigPlanet community and help ensure that our online environment remains safe.”

Considering the recent issues that have plagued LittleBigPlanet games, including DDoS attacks and harassment/hate speech, it makes more sense to integrate servers. In this way, the review team may not be stretched so thin. Given that LittleBigPlanet’s audience is made up of people of all ages, it makes sense that moderation will be the team’s top priority.

Single-player and offline collaborative content can still be played on the affected version. It is important to note that all LittleBigPlanet content can still be accessed from PS4 version 3. Nonetheless, it is regrettable that the games that people pay for will destroy future online functions, which are the victims of our digital future. From a preservation perspective, the loss of digital content makes sense, but at least the team is committed to retaining all possible content in the current version.

LittleBigPlanet 3 is now available for PS4.
