Mario Golf, the classic Nintendo 64 sports game, switches this month

This month, Nintendo Switch Online expansion members will get a classic Mario golf game. Previous Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64 games released with the expansion pack include Paper Mario, Banjo-Kazooie, F-Zero X, Alien Soldier, Super Fantasy Zone, and Light Crusader. Mario Golf was critically acclaimed when it first launched in 1999. A cast of playable characters, including the titular plumber and his main pals (Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and more), plus several pitches rendered in 3D for the first time. The golf-centric series has impressed and excited a legion of fans.

Additionally, wind strength, weather, and direction add to the nuance of the cycle, making the shot more rewarding. This success continues with the recent Mario Golf: Super Dash release on Switch in 2021. Nintendo enthusiast Brian Shea reviewed Super Sprint with a score of 8.25, saying:

‚ÄúDespite the bland nature of the story mode, Mario Golf: Super Rush offers a ton of golf. With a solid foundation and multiple fun ways to play, Mario Golf: Super Rush inherits Nintendo Sports A long tradition of gaming, no matter how crazy you are about the actual sport, it’s a great time.”

Now, players who may have missed one of the final entries in the Mario Golf series will be able to make a hole-in-one on the blocky savannah for the Nintendo 64 title on April 15. Hopefully more Camelot Software plans games will be available or even remastered (we’re watching you, Golden Sun!).
