Daemon X Machina is coming to PC in early 2020 after being a Nintendo Switch exclusive for about six months. It’s a third-person mecha fighting game developed by Marvellous, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you like anime and mechas, but it does get pretty repetitive, according to our review.
Soon you can try it out in a no-stakes setting, as it’s a freebie on the Epic Games Store next week.It will be available from January 27th to February 3rd and will follow the current Epic Games Store Free Gamesabandoned
Although it may be repeated, Daemon X Machina has many uses. For those who missed From Software’s Armored Core series, this is probably the closest you’ll get in a while. It’s made by Armored Core veteran Tsukio Ichiro, and while it’s noticeably more colorful than From’s older mech series, Daemon X Machina definitely carries some of its feel.
“Daemon X Machina is approachable enough to appeal to those with no previous mech gaming experience,” Chris Scullion said in his review“Controlling your mech takes a quest or two to get used to, but it’s quick to click: hit the jump button to turn flight on and off, triggers control your various weapons, and the D-pad allows you to swap out different firearms in in flight.”
Speaking of robot-on-robot violence, it looks like From Software’s Armored Core could be making a comeback, with Hidetaka Miyazaki at the helm.according to Molly’s report, the boss fights will be the “soul” and the architecture will be massive while still retaining the old (read: extremely grey) armor core art style.
