You may remember that last week, Nintendo confirmed that they were aware of the error that occurred at the end of Metroid Fear. They also announced that “a patch will be released at the end of October to solve this problem. We apologize for the inconvenience.” They did not give an exact date.
Well, Nintendo decided to release an update tonight. When you update Metroid Dread, the game should be version 1.0.1. As for the patch notes, the only focus is on bug fixes. Nintendo confirmed that the bug fixes in the patch are also included in this update. The patch description can be seen below.
- Fixed an issue where the map marker was placed on a specific door on the map screen (the door was destroyed by the beam at the end of the game). Destroying the door at the end of the game would cause the game to be forced to execute. Exit message “The software has been closed due to an error“.
- Several other issues have been fixed to improve the overall gaming experience.
