Monster Hunter Rise on PC will not cross-save or cross-play with Switch

With the port version of “Monster Hunter: Rise” landed on PC via Steam in January, game fans questioned two major features when switching to this enhanced version: Will the original game be cross-saved or cross-played on the Switch? Capcom tore off the bandage and gently disappointed us in today’s tweet.

“We have heard your request for cross save/cross game #MHRise & #Sunbreak, But unfortunately, after reviewing it during the entire development process, we found that we could not implement it this time. As always, we thank you for your continued feedback and support. “

According to the developer, the dream of cross-saving and cross-playing in “Monster Hunter” does not seem to have been realized. In a game where players spend hundreds of hours building an arsenal of weapons and hunter chests full of armor and equipment, it is understandable that those who want to play the game on PC must start over.

On the other hand, thanks to the developers for showing up early and solving the problem head-on. At least, Capcom realizes that these features are important to the Monster Hunter player base. This awareness and recognition can lead to the progress of subsequent games.

Monster Hunter Rise will be released on PC in just a few months, and is scheduled to be released on January 12, 2022. This Wednesday, the demo of this enhanced version of Rise will be live on Steam. Both the Switch and PC versions of Rise will receive a large-scale DLC expansion called Sunbreak in the summer of 2022, including new monsters, new exploration areas, and master-level missions.
