Nier Automata is getting an anime adaptation
Nier Automata, easily one of the greatest JRPGs of all time, is being adapted into an anime TV series. Rumors of its existence began circulating earlier this month, and now a new trailer and website mark its official announcement.
There isn’t much to see here yet – the trailer doesn’t reveal much, unfortunately my Japanese isn’t good enough to decipher the few words seen in the video. Finally, we got a good look at 2B and Pod 042, but that’s all the goodies Square Enix has to offer us right now.
It will be interesting to see how they manage to adapt Nier Automata into a TV show format. Some of the game’s biggest hit moments come when you’re the driver, controlling everything that happens. I can’t imagine parts of the story having the same effect without this direct interaction, although I’d love to see how they pull it out of the bag.
