Nintendo has issued a statement warning consumers about fake sites and scams

Unfortunately, one thing that is not uncommon, especially on the Internet, are fake websites and accounts of victims of scams. One way these fake sites and scams try to lure someone is by pretending to be an official venue. For example, there is a fake website that uses the official Nintendo brand and sells Nintendo products at discounted prices.

Not only was Nintendo aware of this, but it also warned consumers about it on its official Japanese website. Nintendo warns that buying things through the fake site “could be dangerous as consumers give their personal information to unauthorized sites”.

Nintendo confirmed that if similar sites are found, they will “notify relevant agencies to close the storefront (or website)”. These are the Japan Cybercrime Advisory and Consumer Affairs Bureau, and Nintendo provided links to two homepages in the statement.
