Nintendo launches two new Splatoon 3 weapons, one allows you to destroy enemies with surround sound

With the unveiling of two new weapons, Nintendo’s Splatoon 3 news (ink) continues today: The Killer Wail 5.1 and Big Bubbler.

The company announced these new weapons on Twitter today, along with screenshots and descriptions. The first one shown is Killer Wail 5.1, which is a modified version of the Killer Wail weapon seen in the previous game. As the name suggests, this weapon is an improvisation on a 5.1 surround sound setting. Traditionally, five standard speakers and a subwoofer speaker can be seen to produce a sound bubble, just like it does.

However, in Splatoon 3, the character will fire a weapon similar to howling the original killer while the six floating speakers move and attack on their own.

The 6 floating loudspeakers will move on their own and use lasers to attack the enemy. For such a dusty place, Splatlands is full of shiny technology.

The second weapon Nintendo showed off today is the Big Bubbler. In previous games, the Bubbler weapon acted as a shield bubble that protects the player from all injuries. As the name suggests, Big Bubbler is a bigger choice. Unlike previous iterations, Big Bubbler’s shielding bubble is static and encompasses more than just one player.

By fixing it, the size has been greatly increased! It seems that Inklings of Splatlands thinks bigger is better. Well, this does look useful for protecting your allies!

Today’s Splatoon 3 weapon display is not Nintendo’s first. More than a week ago, the company launched Crab Tank and Zipcaster weapons, bringing mobile tanks and ninja-like capabilities into the game.

Splatoon 3 will be launched on Nintendo Switch sometime next year. While waiting, be sure to check Latest trailer, Featuring *gasp* mammals, then watch the original Announcement trailer.
