Phil Spencer says Microsoft wants to ‘keep Call of Duty on PlayStation’

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard has sparked a degree of nervousness among PlayStation-owning Call of Duty fans. Will Call of Duty release in the near future be exclusive to Xbox? The prospects aren’t incredible: After Microsoft acquired Bethesda Softworks last year, both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 became console exclusives — that is, they’ll be released on Xbox and PC.

So far, Microsoft has only said that it will “fulfill all existing commitments” to other platform holders after the acquisition, and that “we have no intention of removing any content from the platforms that currently exist.” In a tweet this afternoon, however, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer was more explicit — at least about the Call of Duty franchise.
