PlayStation 5 adds a game trial function, but there is a drawback

PlayStation 5 now offers a new game trial feature, and as you might have thought, it provides the opportunity to try the game before you buy it.

With new features, Sony seems to be more or less testing the waters, because currently there are only two games available: Death Stranding Director’s Cut and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

The trial version of Death Stranding Director’s Cut includes six hours of game time, and you can play Sackboy: A Big Adventure for five hours.

If you decide to buy the game, all the progress, saved data and trial trophies will be carried over to the full game. You must download the trial versions before midnight on October 28th, UK time, and they will be removed from the service at that time (thanks, Push side).

Although all of this sounds great, there is only one problem: as soon as you click the download button, the trial time will begin, not when you load the trial version for the first time.

As European players Note that this may be a problem for people whose internet speed is lower than first-rate. In other words, if it takes several hours to download Death Stranding, you will only have four hours to try the game instead of six full hours.

However, if you want to play the trial version without missing content due to download time, there is a workaround.

according to reddit user jsnals, Before you initially download the trial version, you need to create an account in the same region as your main account, and then click the download trial version button on this new account. Then, after downloading, go to your main account and click the download trial option. Because you have already downloaded it to your PS5 with a new account, you do not need to download the trial version again to play it.

This feature currently seems to be only available in the UK. Hope that this feature will be extended to other regions soon, once you click the download button, Sony will change it to a place where it will not start the trial.
