Pokemon Go Sustainability Week 2022 kicks off today with sage Pokemon orangutan debut

Starting today and continuing until Monday, April 25, Pokemon Go Trainers can participate in Sustainability Week and meet another Pokemon from the Alola region.

For the first time in Pokemon Go, you can also meet shiny little angels – if you’re lucky, go out and find one.

As far as Sustainability Week tasks go, you’ll be able to take part in nature-inspired collecting challenges. Complete it and it will contribute to your Elite Collector’s Medal and earn you 10,000 XP, 15 Great Balls, and an encounter with the Meganium.

The collection challenge will require you to collect the following Pokemon: Angel, Groom, Grimer, Weeping Bell, Trash, and Grotel. Gloom and Weepinbell only appear when dropping Mossy Lure modules. Luckily, this week’s free event box contains one. Additionally, Chikorita (which may glow) and Sewaddle are also attracted to bait. If you’re lucky, you might even come across Alolan Diglett (can glow), Bellossom, and Nincada (glow).

The time to find most of the Pokemon shouldn’t be too bad, as they’ll show up in the wild more often with Oddish, Turtwig, Ferroseed, and Oranguru. If you’re lucky, you might also encounter Phantump and Venusaur, the latter of which might also be shiny.

Be sure to hatch eggs that are 7km long, as the following Pokemon will hatch from them: Alolan Diglett (can glow), Larvitar (can glow), Cherubi (can glow) and Gorilla.

This week’s Fieldwork will also reward your encounters with Pokemon. These Pokemon are Turtwig, Cherubi, Snivy, Trubbish, Chespin and Phantump. Some may even be shiny. You can also earn Super Venus Power and Super Abomasno Power by completing quests.

Below is a list of this week’s field research assignments:

  • Catch the five types of grass: get a Chespin, Snivy or Turtwig encounter
  • Walk 1km: Win a cherub encounter
  • Walk 3km: Get the Phantump Encounter
  • Power up Pokemon five times: Earn 50 Mgea Power for Abomasnow or Venusaur
  • Catch Three Grimers: Win a Trash Encounter
  • Catch three garbage: ear one silver pineapple

You can also get 2x XP bonus on your first spin of PokeStop.

This week also brings the next Community Day, starring Stufful. It takes place on Saturday, April 23rd from 2pm to 5pm local time.

During this time, timed studies will be offered. Each stage requires you to venture 1km, and doing so brings you to encounter Cherubi. Additionally, as part of Sustainability Week, Niantic will plant up to 100,000 trees for every trainer who ventures 5km on Community Day.

Of course, there is also a Community Day ticket, usually priced at $1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). With it, you’ll have access to a special research story, Strong Stuff, exclusive to Stufful Community Day.
