E3 2021 will be held from June 12th to 15th as a rethinked all-virtual online event. Nintendo, Xbox, Bethesda, Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, Capcom and more will deliver new video game announcements, trailers, release dates and more.
Rainbow Six Siege Is one of the most popular multiplayer shooters on both consoles and PCs, and is finally becoming cross-play … but there are some caveats. The announcement was made at Ubisoft’s E32021 presentation on Saturday.
June 30th, Ubisoft will add cross-play and cross-progression to Rainbow Six Siege Among all different PC platforms including standard PC, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna. Players on all three platforms will be able to queue into the game together. For consoles, cross-play will be released in early 2022, allowing PlayStation and Xbox players to join the game together. Ubisoft doesn’t seem to compete with PC players and console players together, but this isn’t all that surprising.
Ubisoft announced that these updates also include cross-progression across “all platforms” as part of one integrated account, so you can earn rewards wherever you play.
Immediately after the announcement of cross-play and cross-progression, Ubisoft also provided fans with a new look for Thunderbird, the game’s latest defensive operator. The Thunderbird preview was provided in the form of a gorgeous animated trailer where the new operator lives and tells a story on a bear with a flare gun.
Thunderbird will be available as part of SiegeNorth Star Updates and Events. It will start on June 14th next week.
