Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart takes home two Game of the Year awards at DICE Awards 2022
After tonight’s ceremony co-hosted by Jessica Chobot and Greg Miller, the 25th annual DICE Awards are in the books. The nomination pack was led by Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart with nine nominations, followed by Deathloop with eight nominations and Inscryption and It Takes Two with five nominations each. A total of 59 games released in 2021 were nominated for this year’s awards. To view the full list of classified nominations, please go here.
With these nine nominations, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has four wins, the most of any game. However, It Takes Two won the Outstanding Achievement in Game Design Award and the top honor for Game of the Year. This continues the momentum of The Game Awards in 2021, where it also won the title of Game of the Year. Other big winners include Halo Infinite, Lone Echo II, Returnal, and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol., all of which have won multiple awards.
The annual DICE Awards are held at the Mandalay Bay Resort by the Institute of Interactive Arts and Sciences in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nominees and awards are determined by an industry peer jury that includes representatives from Ubisoft, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Epic Games, Apple and more. Last year’s Game of the Year winner was Supergiant Games’ Hades.
