Asterix and Obelix: Slap them to death! Developer Nutz Studio and publisher Microids announced that they are remaking the classic Super Nintendo game Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja for consoles and PCs. The remake does not only include the original arcade version, as the developers have announced that they plan to add new features and options to the game, such as an original adventure mode with brand new levels. Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is now available as part of Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja was originally released as an arcade game in Japan in the early 1990s. It is an arcade/platform game that can be played by single or cooperative players. This new game developed by Mr. Nutz Studio (Toki, Asterix and Obelix: Slap Them All!) will invite players to return to prehistoric times and embody prehistoric men, ready to do anything to save their tribe of women.

“It is a real honor to give gamers the opportunity to rediscover these characters that mark their generation. We are confident that Mr. Nutz Studio will bring these prehistoric villains back to life.”

SecondMicroids CEO téphane Longeard.

“We are confident in the ability of the Microids and Mr. Nutz studios to develop a remake of Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja. It’s great to see these iconic video game characters resurrected with today’s technology. We haven’t seen these two characters for a long time. Now, their return will make both old fans and new players happy.”
