Arrange your cards correctly, because this is important

The card system in Back 4 Blood has different operating rules than other games. It is important to remember this and treat the cards as a privilege rather than a random bonus in your hand. Because of the way the system works, you should take the time to arrange the cards in the order that you think is most useful. For example, in the early days, you may want to choose cards that can increase the income of copper coins, or allow you to highlight useful items in the environment, and save more powerful damage boost and health buff cards for later operation.

You can choose a new card every time you arrive in the safe room. Even if you are late, the game will let you pick cards for each stage of the level you missed. This means that with the right deck, you can guarantee certain privileges every time.

The first card is always free

Following the previous point, you should consider placing an indispensable card in the first slot of your deck. Anything you know you can’t live without should go there. A universal, universally useful card, such as a weak point damage boost, or a card that uses a knife instead of standard melee combat, will never come in handy.

If you tend to stick to a certain weapon category, it’s also a good idea to choose a card that complements it, such as those that enable life-draining for melee builds.

Reload your side weapons in each safe room

For some reason, the game likes to unload your side weapons every time you enter the next part of the map in the safe room. You must manually start and reload it every time. This is something I noticed in the beta, I just think this is a bug that will be fixed later. It may still be a bug, but it has now become its own little quirk, so maybe Turtle Rock will not delete it.

This is not a big problem, but it may be helpful to remember it in case you get into trouble and eventually need to use your side weapon, just wait for the animation to reload as you are rushed over by the tall boy.

Tubular bomb above the grenade

Listen, we all like big bangs, especially considering how much damage they cause to the special infected people and bosses in Back 4 Blood. However, at any difficulty higher than Recruit, you need to be more careful not to be swarmed by ordinary zombies.

For this reason, I will use tube bombs instead of grenades in 90% of the cases. It can cause considerable damage and has a long fuse-enough for you to be healed while the brain-dead guy chases it and gives you some precious breathing space.

Of course, tube bombs will not really help a particular infected person, but in these cases, you can usually rely on red barrels, propane tanks, and gasoline tanks.

Toolbox open the door

Sometimes you will come across those marked, locked doors. Back 4 Blood calls them Prepper Stashes, and like everything else in the game, their location and generation rate are random. Sometimes you see more than you open, sometimes the opposite is true.

The best way to prepare for hiding is to leave a slot for the toolkit, which you can purchase from the safe room vendor every time it is generated. Sometimes you can randomly find toolkits in the level, but they compete with some other items, and it makes no sense to wait for them to be generated.

Prepper Stashes contains a lot of resources, better weapons, copper, healing items, and often even first aid cabinets-all of which are convenient on any non-recruiting difficulty.


You can and should share ammunition with your teammates

An excellent Back 4 Blood team is professional; a team made up of classes rather than random characters. Pairing the right cleaner with the right card is the real highlight of the game, so don’t be afraid to specialize.

Usually, this also means that some players will be attracted to certain weapons. Ideally, these are weapons that complement its passive. You can definitely see the game style that Turtle Rock considers when designing each Cleaner.

But ammunition is usually scarce in Back 4 Blood, so always share the types of ammunition you don’t use with your teammates, and summon ammunition you can’t pick up. Even if you are not using a shotgun, it helps to keep some shells in your inventory in case your Holly teammate with the shotgun needs them on the road.

Unfortunately, there is no way to ping the ammunition type and point out that you need it, so please try to communicate with your teammates and hope someone will give you a few bullets. To discard ammunition, just call up your inventory and left/right click on the type you want to share.

You don’t have to go to Fort Hope to get it done

This seems to be the result of the focus test, or it may be the plan all along. All in all, all the functions provided by Back 4 Blood’s Fort Hope Center can be seamlessly accessed in the game menu. By clicking Tab on the PC, you can manage your deck, customize your character, select weapon skins, invest in supply operations, and start a campaign/PvP/single player operation.

Control trauma

Trauma is one of those annoying mechanisms, and it may disrupt the otherwise good functioning. The more you die in Back 4 Blood, the more trauma you will have. This is just blocking certain parts of your health bar, which cannot be healed by bandages or medical kits.

Trauma is a major problem for higher levels of difficulty, not only because it makes you more likely to incapacitate, but also because the amount of trauma you receive varies with difficulty.

Some cleaners have higher resistance to trauma, but you can also add a card or two to your deck to resist it as much as possible. The only way to heal wounds is to use first aid cabinets. These are randomly found in the level itself, sometimes behind a locked room, sometimes in a cabin. Some safe rooms also have these treatment stations, but the number of free uses they provide varies.

This is why it is best to let the most traumatized teammates get free treatment first, and then you can gather your bronze medals for other members of the team to make up.

Don’t be afraid to farm on Recruit for Supply Points

This is a game for players who like to plan ahead. The replenishment point is the currency that allows you to unlock new cards-the meat and potatoes of Back 4 Blood-which can be bred on simple Recruit difficulty. As long as you play with at least one person, you will get some points every time you complete a part.

This is a great way to accumulate these points and strengthen your deck before trying higher difficulty. Decks, especially professional decks, are more important for veterans and others, so take some time to relax on Recruit and establish your stash of supply points as early as possible-or when you need it.
