We’ve been looking at Sable for some time, as the impressive aesthetics of the game have been fascinating since its first release. Finally, the release date of the game has been decided. At today’s Summer Game Fest, we learned that the project will be available on September 23, 2021.
In the game, the player plays a nominal role as Sable pursues a rite of passage in the desert called her gliding. There, she navigates the desolate landscape of sand and rocks, often riding fast-moving hoverbikes.
Interestingly, the game’s full soundtrack was created by a Japanese breakfast, with bandhead Michelle Sauner playing the game’s songs along with the game’s footage. She sang “Gliding”, one of the songs composed for the game. With a unique set of summer game fest events, she seemed to sing and immerse herself in the sandy desert environment of the game.
Sable will also be included as part Tribeca Game Showcase, And will be there tomorrow, June 11th. There is an official selection of long-term festivals.
Sable is created by Shed Works, Two small game developers based in London. The team has partnered with Raw Fury to publish support for the project. The game will be available on PC and the Xbox console, and will be available on the Xbox Game Pass from day one.
