Skyrim mod adds Red Dead Redemption 2’s sketchbook diary
One of the things that’s quite fascinating about Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2 is his habit of sketching some of the places he’s visited in his journal. Not only did Arthur keep a dry quest journal, he wrote his own story and added some pictures of places he’d been and things he’d seen.
Now your character in Skyrim can do the same – at least in terms of sketches.this Adventurer Sketchbook Mod Skyrim Special Edition adds a nice new magazine to the RPG. If you take it with you, when you visit certain famous or picturesque locations in Skyrim, a sketch of that location will be added to your journal. Ah, memories.
There are 66 possible sketches in total, and when you first open the journal, you’ll notice that it’s not completely blank. You can see shadows of future sketches, giving you some hints as to where you should go to fill them out. Or you can walk around and check your journal from time to time to see what new pictures have been drawn.
There are three versions of the mod to choose from. Your motivation may be purely to explore and enjoy the scenery, but if you want the tangible rewards of fleshing out the book, you can also get a skill called Lay of the Land, which will increase your movement speed or increase your critical strike award.
“Finding 30 locations will give you the first phase of Earth Sound, which will grant you +5% crit chance and -5% chance of being critically hit by enemies, or an additional 5% movement speed, It depends on which main file you download,” says creator wtfModMan. “Consecutive stages can be unlocked upon completing 50, 60 and 66 sketches; each stage increases the reward by 5%.”
I took the book for a spin and found a place to sketch outside Solitude, so it was a good place to start. The mod is easy to install: just dump the file into your Skyrim Special Edition data folder and enable the .esp file when launching the game. After restarting, you’ll find the log at the Guardian Stones near Riverwood, leaning on the Warrior Stone. Did you know that this is also the site for the first sketches you can add to your new journal. Have a great trip.
