Moviegoers wanting to watch the latest Sonic the Hedgehog movie won’t let up, as Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has made nearly $300 million worldwide, which will obviously satisfy Paramount and SEGA. The film did particularly well in the UK, where the Sonic franchise and SEGA Mega Drive were unstoppable in the early 1990s, and the film has grossed $26.3 million to date.
“Sonic 2 International is now $142 million and $287.8 million worldwide, which means the little blue critter will now top $300 million on any given day. Leading Sonic is the UK ($26.3 million) , Mexico ($15.7 million), France ($14.3 million), Australia ($13.1 million) and Brazil ($8.9 million). Sonic goes head-to-head with Fantastic Beasts in the Middle East next weekend. Japan is ready for August already.”
